Country 101: Out Dancing in Jan-Feb

Before the New Year Starts, join us for a workshop…

Cowboy BootsSaturday, December 27th, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
1-Day Stomptown Intensive Workshop
at Ankeny Street Studio; Corner of SE Ankeny & 9th Ave.

People have been asking for an intensive workshop. The idea is to go through a lot of patterns and then be able to dance them at the Stomptown Country Dance the same evening. Nightclub 2-Step and East Coast Swing have interchangeable patterns and they are both very popular dances. So it makes sense to combine these into a 2 hour workshop.

Then, let’s start 2015 with a little country!

Country 101 (Basic/Beginning)
at Ankeny Street Studio; Corner of SE Ankeny & 9th Ave.

Jeans and boots: always in style!

Through this 9 Week series we’ll get to cover a lot of material! Each evening we’ll start by learning some line dances as we “warm up.” Then we’ll focus on Country 2-Step to go with our favorite country and western music. Beginners will love the easy and fun basic steps. More advanced students will be pleased with the complexity of more difficult steps and routines.

Bring a friend or we will match you up with a dance partner. This class gets you all ready for the  “StompTown” dances (see below). Country 2-Step is basically a linear form of Swing. Therefore several of the patterns are directly transferable from Swing into Country 2-Step. Come for the whole series or just for a month. The classes will build on each previous lesson.
–    Drop-in $15 per class
–    $50 for January
–    $40 for February
